This policy explains how Studio Barnes collects, uses and protects your personal information. It is written to comply with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

Who I am

Studio Barnes is the brand identity and web design studio of Nic Barnes, based in Pretoria, South Africa. For the purposes of POPIA, Studio Barnes is the responsible party for the personal information described here. You can reach me at hello@nicbarnes.co.za.

What I collect

When you use the contact form or reach out to me directly, I may collect:

  • Your name.
  • Your email address.
  • Your contact number.
  • Any details you share about your business or project.

I do not collect special personal information, and I do not knowingly collect information from children.

Why I collect it

I use your information only to respond to your enquiry, to have a conversation about your project, and to provide services you ask for. I will not use it for anything else without your consent.

Consent

By submitting the contact form and ticking the consent box, you agree that I may store and process the details you provide for the purposes above. You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing me.

How I store and protect it

Form submissions are handled through Formspree and delivered to my email. Spam protection is provided by Google reCAPTCHA, which is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. I take reasonable steps to keep your information secure and I keep it only for as long as needed to respond to and follow up on your enquiry.

Sharing

I do not sell your personal information. I only share it with the service providers needed to run this site and respond to you (such as Formspree and my email provider), and where I am required to by law.

Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to ask what personal information I hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how it is processed. To exercise any of these rights, email me at hello@nicbarnes.co.za. If you believe I have not handled your information properly, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

Changes

I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
