The thinking

The brief

Calculo wasn't short on expertise. They were short on visibility. As a cloud-based accounting firm built for modern businesses, they needed a brand that reflected the way they worked: smart, efficient, and anything but traditional. The problem? They looked like everyone else in an industry full of lookalike logos and stock-photo handshakes. They needed a brand people would remember.

The challenge

Before this project, Calculo had no real brand presence. No visual identity. No website. No assets working together to build recognition. Most of their business came through referrals, which is great, until growth depends entirely on someone else doing your marketing for you. To attract new clients consistently, they needed to show up with clarity and confidence.

The approach

We started by understanding the landscape. What were competitors doing? More importantly, what weren't they doing? The opportunity wasn't to fit in. It was to create something impossible to confuse with another accounting firm. The solution: a distinctive logo and identity system, brand collateral built for consistency across every touchpoint, and a clean, user-focused website that reinforced their technology-first approach.

The execution

The logo became the cornerstone of the entire identity. I developed a custom mark that combined a squirrel and a paperclip, a playful but strategic choice that represented organisation, resourcefulness, and attention to detail. It gave Calculo something most firms in their space lacked: personality. From there, every brand asset was designed to work together. Consistent. Recognisable. Purposeful. The website brought it all into one place: mobile-friendly, easy to navigate, and built to communicate exactly who they are and why they're different.

The outcome

Calculo walked away with more than a logo. They gained a brand they could grow into. A professional presence that built trust before the first conversation. And the freedom to market themselves beyond referrals. Because when people finally notice your business, they should remember it too.
